IQL history

Industrial Química Lasem was founded in 1947 in Barcelona. Since its inception, the company has consistently focused on the export market, which has allowed it to establish a well-developed and robust international commercial network. Its strategy of diversification across various sectors, combined with specialization in select industries, has enabled steady, controlled, and sustained growth over time.

In 2004, the company took a significant step forward by constructing a larger, state-of-the-art facility in the industrial zone of Pla del Camí in Castellgalí. This move not only expanded the company’s production capacity but also positioned it as one of the most modern esterification plants in Europe.

In 2011, IQL was acquired by the Nisshin OilliO Group, a prominent conglomerate with a strong presence in Asia, specializing in the production of edible oils and ingredients for the food, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries. Following this acquisition, IQL was integrated into the Group’s Fine Chemical Division, evolving into a multinational organization with streamlined internal procedures. Since then, the company has focused on growth driven by advanced technology and a commitment to quality.
